Creating Free Material Packages

Material packages can be placed at fixed height (levels). The machinings included in the material package are placed on the rod independently of any profile extensions, mullion joints or geometric specifics (pitches, sill height offset, etc.). The resulting machinings from the material package are thus always at the right position. Additional advantages are both the calculation-specific and production-specific considerations for the articles needed.

1. Creating machinings

Go through the “CNC Database” to “CNC Machinings”.

Select a system.

Create one entry for each mullion, the cover strip and the pressure plate.

Define the machinings for the cover strip.


Then specify the machinings for the mullions.

Important! The order of the machining steps for mullion machining is controlled using priorities. Thus for machinings that must be carried out in a certain order, always enter priorities. Priority 1 for the machining to be carried out first. Higher priorities for the machinings that follow.

In this example, the rectangle pocket is assigned priority 1. The machinings on the following tabs 2, 3 and 4 correspondingly receive priorities 2, 3 and 4.


After creating the machinings for the mullions, create machinings for the pressure bar.



2. Creating a machining group

Under “CNC Database” -> “CNC Groups”, select the system.

Click the “Add” button to create a new group.


Select the supplier and enter the group name.

Specify the series in which the machining should be used and under Type, select the option “Free Group”. Click on “OK”.

Open the newly created group.


Enter the profiles. In the corresponding fields underneath, enter the machinings that you created in step 1. Save the settings.

Proceed in the same manner for the group for the mullion.

Create a new “Free group”.


Enter the corresponding machining.


Repeat this process for the pressure plate.


3. Defining a material package

Under “User database” -> “System Input” -> “Material package”, select the system in question.

Click the “Add” button to create a new material package.

In the area on the right, you can now add new data.


Give the material group a name.

Under “Type”, select the option “Free”.

Click the “Add Set” button to create a tab for the mullion data.

Now enter the corresponding profiles, additional parts and the machining group into the three fields.

Click the “Add Set” button again to generate a new tab for the data for the pressure plate. On tab 2, define the data for the pressure plate.


Repeat this pressure for the cover strip as well.


Save the data and switch back to the project centre.

4. Using a material package

The material package can now be selected in element entry.


The machinings are displayed in CNC machining.
