What's new in Version 14?

Version 14 introduces numerous enhancements across project centre, input of element, CNC, standards & regulations, and system & infrastructure. New features include enhanced functionality for fabrication phases, new evaluations for the product carbon footprint, sash diagrams for PVC systems, and additional functions for managing catalogue data and fire protection documentation.

Project centre

Several functions for managing and organising project data have been enhanced in the project centre. The updates affect the management of fabrication phases, the restoration of deleted positions, and improved traceability of project information.

Fabrication phases now support the separate assignment of curtain walls and separated insertions. This allows curtain wall constructions and the insertions they contain to be assigned independently to different fabrication phases.

In addition, the overview and traceability of fabrication phase assignments have been enhanced. Assigned fabrication phases and their status are displayed directly in the project information, enabling faster navigation between projects and fabrication phases.

Projects and positions can be manually sorted within a fabrication phase in order to structure fabrication orders according to the required production sequence.

Deleted positions are managed in a separate project-specific recycle bin. They remain available for later restoration or can be permanently removed from the system.

By separating the position list from the recycle bin, deleted positions remain clearly visible and accessible. This improves traceability and allows positions to be reassigned to their original project when required.

Input of element

The input of element has been extended with new functions and enhanced configuration options. The updates affect PVC systems, hardware, colours and finishes, as well as the display and configuration of elements.

The selection of supplier colours has been expanded with additional technical properties. Alongside the colour designation, information such as the colour system, quality features, texture, gloss level and application area is now available.

Supplier colours can also be filtered by various properties. This makes it easier to identify suitable colours and finishes and to narrow down technical requirements more efficiently.

The selection of reinforcement profiles for PVC systems has been extended with sash diagrams. These diagrams show the permitted application range based on sash width and sash height.

Sash diagrams allow you to verify whether the selected reinforcement profile complies with the applicable system limits. Relevant requirements are taken into account during profile selection.

If several technically suitable profile cylinders are available, the preferred cylinder can be selected manually. In addition to automatic determination, alternative cylinder lengths can therefore be considered provided they meet the applicable requirements.

The configuration of overhead door closers has been extended to include the selection of mounting plates for slide rails. Mounting plates are treated as separate components and can be selected directly within the hardware configuration.

The selection process is fully integrated into the configuration workflow. Associated articles and technical requirements are taken into account automatically.

The input of element has been extended with enhanced view controls for 2D and 3D displays. Using the new controls, elements can be displayed directly from the internal, external, side, top or bottom view.

The available views make it easier to switch between different perspectives and support the visual verification of of elements within the input of element.

The settings for cross sections have been comprehensively revised. Available options are now organised into thematic tabs and presented within a clearer user interface.

The new structure simplifies the management of view, dimensioning, export and layer settings. Existing functions remain available and are now presented in a modernised layout.

CNC

The CNC functions have been expanded with additional options for visualising machining operations. New display options support the assessment of machining operations and their orientation on the profile.

The 3D view of machining operations has been extended with additional display options. Machining operations can now be displayed as solid bodies to provide a clearer visualisation of their geometry and position on the profile.

The original profile finish can also be included in the display. This provides different viewing options for a more detailed assessment of machining operations and their location on the profile.

Standards & Regulations

Several evaluations and reports have been enhanced to support standards-related and regulatory requirements. The updates include thermal performance calculations, product carbon footprint evaluations and documentation for fire protection elements.

The calculation of U-values for Georgian bars has been enhanced in accordance with EN ISO 10077-1. Additional inputs are available for geometry, material, glazing, Psi values, and the relevant testing and calculation principles.

The input of element has been extended with the display of the product carbon footprint (PCF). For supported systems, the carbon footprint of an element can be evaluated directly within the position.

The evaluation takes account of the life-cycle modules defined in EN 15804 and presents the different global warming potential (GWP) categories in a clear format.

A fire protection monitoring report is available for fire doors and smoke control doors. The report combines information relevant to factory production control and external monitoring in a single document.

Depending on the system used, the report may include dimensional inspections, approval information, and test-relevant profiles, gaskets, accessories, and other fire protection components.

System & Infrastructure

Technical foundations and administrative functions have been further enhanced within System & Infrastructure. The latest developments focus on application cybersecurity and the management and protection of catalogue data.

The Logikal desktop application has undergone an independent cybersecurity audit and penetration test. Identified vulnerabilities were analysed and assessed as part of the certification process.

The assessment was completed with an A+ rating. Future audits and recertification activities will ensure that cybersecurity continues to be reviewed on a regular basis.

The management of catalogue data has been technically revised. Catalogue data is now maintained in separate manufacturer-specific data repositories, enabling updates to be managed more efficiently.

In addition, automatic backups of catalogue data have been introduced. Backup copies are therefore available for future restoration whenever required.
