Fabrication phases are used to organise positions and elements for production. They allow positions from one or more projects to be grouped into fabrication orders. Elements can, for example, be grouped by production date, manufacturing area or installation phase and processed independently of the project to which they belong. Combining fabrication orders across multiple projects supports efficient material utilisation and helps reduce material waste.
Create a fabrication phase
- Open the project centre.
- Open the "Fabrication phases" tab.

- Click "New fabrication phase".
- Enter the fabrication phase data in the following window.

- Enter a name under "Name" to uniquely identify the fabrication phase.
- Enter the required fabrication number under "Assembly number" to assign an internal identifier to the fabrication phase.
- Click "New number" to generate and apply an assembly number.
- Enter the responsible user under "Person in charge" to assign ownership of the fabrication phase.
- Enter additional information under "Info" to add notes relating to the fabrication phase.
- Select the required date under "Deployment date" to define when the fabrication phase is to be made available.
- Enable "Fabrication phase may be edited by all users" to allow all users to edit the fabrication phase.
Edit fabrication phase information
- Click "Fabrication phase information" to display the information and settings of the selected fabrication phase.
- In the "Fabrication phase information" area, additional information and settings are available for managing the fabrication phase, in addition to the basic data entered when it was created.

- Select the required status from the "Fabrication phase status" drop-down list to define the current processing status of the fabrication phase. The following options are available:
- Planning: The fabrication phase is in the preparation or planning stage.
- Production: The fabrication phase is currently being manufactured and actively processed.
- Completed: Processing of the fabrication phase has been completed.
Assign a project
- Click on the "Start" tab "Assign project" to link a project to the selected fabrication phase.

- Select the required project to assign its positions to the fabrication phase.

- Once the link has been created, all positions from the selected project are added to the fabrication phase and displayed in the position list.

Note:
- If a project is linked to a fabrication phase, the positions it contains can no longer be marked as alternative positions in project centre.
- After a project has been linked, the quantity of the assigned positions can no longer be changed in project centre.
- Article options used in the project are not transferred automatically to the fabrication phase and must be added separately if required.
Sort projects and positions
- On the "Start" tab, in the "Sort" area, click the appropriate button to change the order of projects and positions within the fabrication phase.

- Click "Up" to move the selected project or position up by one place in the list.
- Click "Down" to move the selected project or position down by one place in the list.
- The revised order is applied immediately to the fabrication phase structure and is taken into account during further processing.
Remove a project from a fabrication phase
- Open the required fabrication phase to display the linked projects.
- Select the project whose link to the fabrication phase is to be removed.
- On the "Start" tab, click "Delete project linking" to remove the link between the selected project and the fabrication phase.
- When the project link is removed, all positions belonging to the selected project are removed from the fabrication phase.
Assign a position
Note:
A licence for the "Fabrication phases" module is required if you want to combine individual positions from different projects within a fabrication phase.
- In the fabrication phase, on the "Start" tab, click "Assign position" to link positions to the fabrication phase.
- In the window that opens, select the required project to display its positions.
- The "Fabrication phase assignment" window displays the positions of the selected project together with the associated elements.

- (1) Enter a search term in the "Search" field and confirm the entry to filter the displayed positions and elements.
- (2) Select the required option from the "Filter" drop-down list to limit the displayed positions and elements. The following options are available:
- All positions
- Show only positions without fabrication phase assignment
- Show only elements without fabrication phase assignment
- (3) Click "Reset filter" to remove the filter settings and display all positions and elements again.
- (4) Enable the corresponding option button at position level to assign all elements of the position to the fabrication phase.
- (5) Enable the corresponding option button at element level to link individual elements of a position to the fabrication phase.
Note:
If a position is linked to a fabrication phase, the quantity of that position can no longer be reduced in project centre.
Remove a position from a fabrication phase
- Open the fabrication phase to display the positions it contains.
Select the position whose link to the fabrication phase is to be removed. - On the "Start" tab, click "Delete position linking" to remove the selected position from the fabrication phase.
- Removing the position link removes the selected position from the fabrication phase position list.
Open a project from a fabrication phase
- Right-click the required position to open the context menu.

- Select "Open project" from the context menu to open the project assigned to the selected position.
- Select "Open project in new window" from the context menu to open the associated project in a separate window.
- After the project has been opened, the selected position is automatically highlighted in the project centre so that you can navigate directly to the corresponding position.
Assign elements to a fabrication phase
- Open the project containing the positions or elements that you want to assign to a fabrication phase.
- On the "Start" tab, click "Fabrication phase assignment" to edit fabrication phase assignments for positions and elements.

- The "Fabrication phase assignment" window displays the project positions together with the elements they contain.

- Enable the corresponding option button in the column of the required fabrication phase to assign the position or element to that fabrication phase.
- If a position contains multiple elements, the elements can be assigned individually to different fabrication phases.
- For curtain walls, seprate insertions can be selected independently and assigned to different fabrication phases.
Display fabrication phase assignments
- Information about fabrication phase assignments for positions and elements is available at various locations within project centre.

- In the "Fabrication phases" column of the position list, the fabrication phase assigned to the respective position is displayed.
- Select a position to display the assigned fabrication phases, including their current status, in the "Position information" area.
- If a position contains multiple elements, the assigned fabrication phases are also displayed for each individual element in the "Element management" area.
- This information allows you to identify at any time which fabrication phase a position or element is assigned to.
Create links by drag and drop
- Open the project centre.
- Right-click the project and select "Open in new window" from the context menu to display the project in a separate window.
- Arrange the open windows so that you can work with the project and the fabrication phase at the same time.
- Open the required fabrication phase in the original window.
- In the project window, select the position that you want to link to the fabrication phase and drag it into the fabrication phase window while holding down the left mouse button.
- If the selected position contains multiple elements, the "Fabrication phase assignment" window opens.
- In the "Fabrication phase assignment" window, enable the appropriate option buttons to assign the required elements to the fabrication phase.
- Click "OK" to link the selected elements to the fabrication phase.
- The linked positions or elements are then displayed in the fabrication phase position list.
