Information on dimensions, materials, shapes, glazing, Psi values, test references and prices is available for the configuration of Georgian bars within insulating glass units. The recorded data is used, among other things, to determine thermal performance values. The calculation is carried out in accordance with DIN EN 14351-1 and EN ISO 10077-1.
- Click "User database" > "Fillings" > "Georgian bars" on the home screen:

- The following window opens:

Add Georgian bars
- Click the "Add" button to create a new Georgian bar entry.
Select Georgian bars
- Select the required entry from the list on the left-hand side to view or edit the Georgian bar data.
- Right-click an entry to open the context menu and perform additional actions. The following options are available:
- New entry
- Edit
- Delete
- Hide inactive entries
Data
- Enter a unique designation in the "Name" field to identify the Georgian bar.
- Enter additional information in the "Description" field to document the properties or intended use of the Georgian bar.
Dimensions
- Enter the visible width of the Georgian bar in millimetres in the "View" field to define the calculation characteristics.
- Enter the depth of the Georgian bar in millimetres in the "Depth" field to define the geometric properties.
Note:
If the Georgian bar width is greater than 30 mm, the Ug value is calculated on the basis of these specifications.
Property
- Select the material used from the "Material" list to define the material properties of the Georgian bar. The following options are available:
- Not specified
- Aluminium
- PVC
- Select the required shape from the "Shape" list to define the geometry of the Georgian bar. The following options are available:
- Not specified
- Octagon
- Round
- Rectangle
For calculations in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10077-1, the Aluminium and PVC material groups are taken into account. The selected material influences the determination of the Ψgb value and therefore the result of the U-value calculation for glazing with internal Georgian bars.
Glazing
- Select the required option from the "Glazing" drop-down list to define the glazing properties. The following options are available:
- Not specified
- Coated
- Uncoated
- Enter the minimum permissible spacer gap in millimetres in the "Min. spacer gap" field to define the application limits of the Georgian bar.
- Enter the maximum permissible spacer gap in millimetres in the "Max. spacer gap" field to define the application limits of the Georgian bar.
Note:
The selected glazing option influences the determination of the Ψgb value in accordance with DIN EN ISO 10077-1.
Psi value | Fabricator information
- The specified values are used as the basis for calculating the Ug value using the Psi value.
- The specified values are used as the basis for the calculation of the Ug value according to the psi value.
- Select the institute or calculation basis from the "Notified body" list to document the origin of the Psi value. The following options are available:
- Enter the designation or reference of the test report in the "Test report" field to document the verification of the Psi value.
- Enter the Psi value in W/(m K) in the "Psi value" field to calculate the Ug value based on the specified Psi value.
Note:
The entered Psi value overrides the automatic calculation in accordance with DIN EN 14351-1 and DIN EN ISO 10077-1.
The user is responsible for the accuracy and verification of the entered values. The notified body and the reference of the test report can be stored as supporting documentation.
Price
- Select the required currency from the "Currency" list to define the pricing information.
- Enter the base price in the "Price per field" to define the cost of the Georgian bar per field.
- Enter the required minimum number of fields in the "Min. number of fields" to define the pricing calculation per field.
- Enter the price per metre in the "Price per length" field to calculate length-dependent costs.
- Enter the price for a cross connection in the "Price cruciform" field to define the additional cost for this configuration.
- Enter the price for a special cross connection in the "Price special cruciform" field to define the additional cost for this configuration.
- Enter the price for an edge connection in the "Price edge connection" field to define the additional cost for this configuration.
- Enable the "Inactive" option to deactivate the entry for further use. The entry is marked as inactive and can be hidden when filtering is enabled.
