Reference points are used for the precise positioning of machining operations on profiles. In this program area, you can define where on a profile machining should be aligned automatically or manually. The configuration allows exact assignment of the reference points.

  • On the home screen, click "User database" > "Article data":
  • Double-click a supplier:
  • Select a profile on the left.
  • Click the "Reference points" tab on the right-hand side:
  • Select the "Points determined manually" option to enter custom dimensions.
  • Select the "Don't update points" option to prevent overwriting the reference points during a program or database update.
  • Select the "Release for external software" option to allow using the reference points in external programs (e.g. CAD systems).
  • Click "Automatic" to define the dimensions automatically based on the profile contours. The outside reference points (O1/O3 and O2/O4) are always positioned on the left side of the profile, the inside reference points (I1/I3 and I2/I4) on the right side.

Below you will find an overview of typical reference points with information on the profile orientation.

Base profiles

Frame profile

The reference points Outside 1 / Outside 3, Outside 2 / Outside 4 as well as Inside 1 / Inside 3 and Inside 2 / Inside 4 are each on common axes. They mark the vertices of the profile body.

Mullion/Transom profile

Bottom rail profile

Reinforced mullion/transom

The reference points Outside 3 and Outside 4 mark the vertices of the static reinforcement.

Door frame design, open out

The reference points Outside 3 and Inside 3 form an axis.

Sash/Leaf profiles

The reference points Inside 1, Inside 2, Outside 1 and Outside 2 mark the vertices of the profile body.

The additional reference points on the side facing away from the glass each form an axis which allows lock machining to be programmed universally for elements that open inwards and outwards.

Sash

The reference points Outside 4 and Inside 4 form an axis at the level of the reference point Outside 2.

Door leaf, open in

The reference points Outside 4 and Inside 4 form an axis at the level of the reference point Outside 2.

Door leaf, open out

The reference points Outside 4 and Inside 4 form an axis at the level of the reference point Inside 2.

Door leaf, open out, with panic function

As in profiles without panic function, the reference points Outside 4 and Inside 4 form an axis at the same level. In this case, this is not at the level of the reference point Inside 2.

Insertion profiles

Insertion profile, door, open out

The reference points Outside 3 and Inside 3 form an axis at the level of the reference point Outside 1.

The reference points Outside 2, Outside 4, Inside 2 and Inside 4 are located at height 0 and each on the outer edges of the adjacent profile.

Insertion profile, double door open in/out

The reference points Outside 3 and Inside 3 form an axis.

Meeting stile profile, door

The reference points Outside 3 and Inside 3 form an axis at the level of the reference point Outside 1.
