Project Management

Available for version 9.

You have many projects in your project management and wish to increase the clear arrangement?

From now on you have the possibility to archive projects. These are closed off for editing and removed from the project management, but remain in your LogiKal project structure and thus are preserved in your own backup concepts. Naturally the archived projects can be shown again at any time.

How it works

To use this function, right click on the project and select the option “Archive Project”. The archived project will be hidden.”


To show the archived project, right click into the project list and select “Show Archived Projects”. They will then be shown in grey font.


To reactivate an archived projects right click the respective greyed out project and select “Reactivate Project”.


System Preferences

Element Preview in the System Preferences

Available for version 9.

The settings for the system preferences have been facilitated significantly.

By choosing the pre-settings you now get facilities which you are already used to from the item selection in the input of elements. The items are displayed graphically and you receive additional information whether it refers to a stock item or a repair item.

In case an item is marked by the supplier as a repair item or not in stock, a yellow warning triangle is displayed next to the article number. For detailed information move the mouse pointer over the yellow warning triangle.

Creating your system preferences, you thereby already have the guarantee to preselect the right article for your project.

How it works

To be directed to the system preferences click “Job” → “Project Preferences” → “System Preferences” in the project centre. You can select the items here.


Copying System Preferences with System Swap

Available for version 9.

A very helpful new function is available for you, to react even faster to your customers’ change requests.

In case you wish to offer an element in another system than it has been created in, you can use the familiar function “Swap System”. In doing so the geometry and other properties of an element are copied and the element is created in the new system.

A new thing is that you can apply the system preferences to these design modifications, so that based on these preferences the element is built almost automatically. With projects containing a lot of positions this provides a significant time advantage for you.

How it works

Right click the position and select “Edit” → “System Swap” in the context menu.


Select the new system and activate “Use System Preferences”.


Entering CE Data as Project Preferences

Available for version 9.

It’s part of your everyday life that in the bill of quantity certain characteristics for systems, that your elements have to meet, are pre-set. You can enter these preferences now in the project centre’s CE data area. The CE data’s evaluation is displayed right away and clearly as a comparison of the performance data of your door, window, and curtain wall elements to the required performances. LogiKal enables you to compare quickly and directly, and adjust if necessary.

How it works

When creating a new project, you are automatically directed to the CE data’s preferences.

With an existing project you also get to the program window via “Job” → “Project Preferences” → “CE Data” in the file menu.

You can enter the CE data here. On the left hand side you can swap between the tabs “Windows”, “Doors”, and “Curtain Walls”.


The data entered here will later on be displayed on the right hand column “Project Preferences”, when determining the data.

Input of Elements

Using several Program Windows simultaneously

Available for version 9.

You have the possibility now, even for multiple projects, to open several program windows at the same time. This comes in handy e.g. if you use two monitors simultaneously.

On the one monitor e.g. you can open a position in the input of elements and copy a drawing. On the other you can open the CAD and insert the drawing.


You can also open several positions at the same time and copy various data such as insertions, additional items, fillings, hardware etc. by using the right mouse button.


How it works

To use this function click “Settings” → “Input of Elements” → “Input” in the project centre and activate the function “Open Input of Elements in own Window”.



Info-text Undo and Restore

Available for version 9.

A small and very useful function facilitates your overview of the most recent alterations in your construction. This way, despite of being distracted in your everyday work, you will know immediately whether the intended alteration has been carried out.

How it works

Moving the mouse across “Undo” in the toolbar displays the latest alteration.

Just as well you might move the mouse over “Redo” in the toolbar, to see which previous processing step shall be activated again.


Variable Solid Glass Corners + Psi-Value

Available for version 9.

Elements with 90° solid glass corners are part of your and our everyday life. But it’s not unusual that you are required to produce glass corners that are not rectangular. Naturally you also require the U-values for these solid glass corners. Quickly, safely, and reliably the variable solid glass corner will become a part of your everyday work.

There are two additional versions of the corner formation for solid glass corners available:
1. “Symmetrical without step glazing”
2. “Symmetrical with step glazing”

How it works

To apply the corner formation click “Solid Glass Corners” on the left hand side of “Grid” in the program window of the input of elements. Select the corresponding mullion for the solid glass corner and click “Apply” in the toolbar right below. You can select the new corner formation in the following program window under “Type of Solid Glass Corner”.


Additional Information

Psi-values for solid glass corners are now calculated also.

Colour for Curved Profiles in Insertions

Available for version 9.

For an easy and free design of elements, curved profiles can now be assigned to particular colours. This way they can meet the customers’ requests, also as far as the choice of colours for specific elements is concerned.

How it works

Create an arch in the program window ” Grid”. Click “Insertion Data” in the program window “Element”, and select the requested colour in the field “Arch”.




Easier Insertion of Floating Windows

Available for version 9.

In modern architecture special designs which offer less profile surface in the view become increasingly important. A more and more frequently occurring form of such a construction is the so-called “Floating Window” in a curtain wall, where the frame of a window performs a glass-bearing role for the adjacent fields. Such floating windows can now be easily embedded via standard insertions in the input of elements.

How it works

Select “Element” → “Insertions” in a curtain wall construction.


Click the following button:


Select a field in the position:


Create the insertion for the floating window and add the mullions.


Select a turn-tilt element e.g. and a fixed field from the insertions.

It is extremely important for this insertion that a fixed field exists!


Follow the further course of the program and finish the input of elements for this insertion. This takes you back to the view of the curtain wall. The floating window has now been successfully embedded.



Wall connections with Machining

Available for version 9.

Imagine that during the input of elements you can already assign tasks for the window in the wall connection for e.g. the installation.

For this you either access the existing edits or create them yourself on the spot. You can automatically place installation drills for different element sizes e.g., by selecting the according CAD drawing. Thus you can create your elements entirely with all connections, accessories, and machining while saving time and planning costs.

How it works

There are two new symbols in the CAD: “Add Machining” and “Import Machining”. Via this toolbar you can select machining and add it to the wall connection on the desktop.



Actual Filling Thickness of LSG Panes

Available for version 9.

For a smooth installation, matching glazing beads and gaskets are indispensable. Which makes it all the more important to consider the influence of the the film thickness, when ordering your LSG panes. That is why we have created the opportunity to already perform this task during the input.

How it works

In the glass input, under “Filling Thickness”, you now find the nominal thickness as well as the total thickness including the film.


Favourites in Glazing

Available for version 9.

For an easier and quicker selection of glazing you now have the possibility to create favourites, the way you are already used to with other item selection.

How it works

Select the requested glazing and click the button “Add to Favourites”on the bottom. As of now, the selected filling will be available in the selection list up above.


Glass Statics for Triple Glazing

Available for version 9.

Even more planning security in calculation of the glass statics is promised now, also for triple glazing. You always have the information about glass stress and deflection available.

How it works

Glaze the position. The program window with the calculated data appears, when you click the underlined text marked in blue right, down below under information.



Glazing with Side Length Surcharge

Available for version 9.

In many cases and especially with big glass dimensions, you have to include surcharges in the glass price, which apply to the additional side lengths of the pane.

For this, the glass definition has been extended by the option of the side length surcharge, to consider the percental surcharge your glass supplier charges for extra-long side dimensions.

This input option is available for all filling types.

How it works

Click “Job” in the project centre’s toolbar e.g. and select “Project Glass” under “Project Item”.

Under the tab “Estimation” → “Surcharge” you will find an entry area called “Percent Over-Length”.




Available for version 9.

We have entered the most common spacers by different suppliers for you, to easily consider the according Psi-value by selecting the right spacer. With certain elements you already achieve considerably better values. There are standard Psi-values for the margin’s conjoint measurement entered in LogiKal. The calculation of Psi-values happens automatically depending on the construction (Window/Door or Curtain Wall), the thickness of the glass (individual thickness inside/centre/outside), and the glass construction.

How it works

Click “Job” → “Project Item” → “Project Glass” in the project centre’s toolbar.

Under the tab “General” you can select the items under “Type of Spacer”. The preview shows the most important details concerning the item.



Only available for version 9 in Germany

Besides door panels by Rodenberg which can already be selected from and configurated in LogiKal, you now also have panel configurators by Esco and Obuk available. With the aid of these configurators you can work out, offer, and construct front door elements including the designed door panel in LogiKal. The panels can be ordered then directly from the supplier. The colour concept, the technical shape of the panel (clamped, single or double leaf covering), and all subsequent dimension changes will be factored into the configuration correctly and continuously. The offer will show a door with the image of the realistic panel.

Door Panel Configurator Esco

Available for version 9.

The Esco door panel configurator is now embedded directly in the glass input of LogiKal.

With this new function, all technical and economic data of this supplier of door panels is available fast, securely, and directly.

In the glass input under panels you select the supplier and get direct access to the online configurator. Once there you move on Esco’s configurator desktop and “build” your “Customer Request Panel”.

How it works

Select a door field in the position drawing and click “Door Panel” and then “Door Panel Esco”.


Esco’s door panel configurator opens up.

Select the panel and its properties. Click “Accept” in the toolbar right below to get to the next input window.

Once the door panels are configurated, transfer the technical and economic data back to LogiKal, where they will be factored into the element.

Door Panel Configurator Obuk

Available for version 9.

The Obuk door panel configurator is now embedded directly in the glass input of LogiKal.

With this new function, all technical and economic data of this supplier of door panels is available fast, securely and directly.

In the glass input under panels you select the supplier and get direct access to the online configurator. Once there you move on Obuk’s configurator desktop and “build” your “Customer Request Panel”.

How it works

Select a door field in the position drawing and click “Door Panel” and then “Door Panel Obuk”.


Obuk’s door panel configurator opens up.

Select the panel and its properties. Afterwards click the save symbol in the upper line to get back to LogiKal.

Once the door panels are configurated, transfer the technical and economic data back to LogiKal, where they will be factored into the element.

Raffstore by Warema

Available for version 9.

In LogiKal Raffstore by Warema can now be embedded directly in positions.

How it works

Click “Element” → “Raffstores” in the program window.


Select a field in the position drawing and click “Apply” in the toolbar.

The Warema configurator opens up. Here you can enter the settings for the Raffstore.

After the entry click “OK” right down below and close the window.

The Raffstore will now be shown in LogiKal in exterior view.

Flachglas Markenkreis

Available for version 9.

The variety of special glass by various suppliers is growing exponentially. Hence, it seems logical to be able to assign technical data of the glass from the supplier directly to the panels. You can continue to work seamlessly, and time-consuming inquiries to the glass manufacturer or supplier are a thing of the past.

How it works

Click “Job” → “Project Item” → “Project Glass” in the project centre’s toolbar.

In the lower area you will find a toolbar with the inscription “Import”. Select the option “Flachglas” here.


You will automatically be directed to the desktop of Flachglas Markenkreis, look at details of the different glass and import it to LogiKal.


Cross Section

Available for version 9.

Literally making a good cut with the completely revised cross section. The program has been designed even more user friendly and furthermore remembers all alterations you carry out – also in other program parts, such as printouts. At this point, we show you which innovations will facilitate your everyday work from now on.

Section Drawings are saved

Available for version 9.

The huge advantage of this innovation is that both the start and end point of the section line, as well as the positioning of all drawing entries in the plot menu, are saved automatically for each position and are always available the next time you open the section drawing.


Automatic Cross Display in the Cross Section

Available for version 9.

The cross creation in the cross construction has once again become faster. Its settings to horizontal and vertical sections from the input of elements serve as basis for automatically generated sections, when asking for the cross section.


Subsequent Changes of Sections

Available for version 9.

The section lines and section drawings can be modified subsequently. You can influence the position and the alignment of the section lines. In case you have assigned further side fields to an element e.g. you can lengthen the already existing section very easily and thus include the new fields into the section, without having to create the whole section drawing again. You determine the exact display of the cut elements directly in the section output.

How it works

Activate the function “Edit Cross Sections” in the toolbar.


The position drawing will show control points displayed as small, grey boxes, for each section line now.

With these control points and by keeping the left mouse button pushed, you can shorten or lengthen the section lines, or move the section line in its whole position. The section drawings will be adjusted automatically.

Section Printouts with Interior and Exterior View

Until now, only two drawings were necessary for the interior and exterior view of the cross section. You now have the opportunity to display both views on one page, as to describe your construction even more extensive.


How it works

Click “Settings” → “Cross Section” in the project centre’s file menu and activate the option “Interior and Exterior View” under “Printout” left down below.


Free Design of Drawings on the Printout

Available for version 9.

The standard design of printouts has been further upgraded. You can position each individual drawing element freely or depending on other elements. Furthermore you can assign an own scale to each drawing element and thereby enlargen or reduce the display.

With that, a lot of additional drawing work and manual adjustments of plans in CAD can be saved.

How it works

Mark one or several drawing elements – while pushing the Ctrl key – and move them to the requested area of the plan by using the mouse. For an exact positioning several aids are available.


On the one hand you can determine the direction to “Rectangular Drawing”, so that the drawing elements can only be moved horizontally or vertically on the plan and the original alignment remains unchanged. Activate the according symbol in the upper hand corner.

On the other hand you can insert your own grid, which allows for a very flexible yet arranged layout of elements.


Just as easily you can assign your own scale to all drawing elements independently. Mark the element and set the scale under “Scale of Element”.



New Printouts for Section Drawings

Available for version 9.

You save even more time with the output of section drawings.

The section drawings of the whole project are saved in its composition and can be printed with just one call of the program.

For this, use the printout “Cross Section Drawings” which you will find in the evaluation area “Fabrication”.


Tabular Declaration of Performance

Available for version 9.

Declarations of Performance can now be issued in tabular form. Especially with bigger building projects this provides a huge advantage. That way you can issue the necessary forms for the CE-marking even more quickly.

How it works

Select “Estimation” →”Declaration of Performance Table” in the printout list.



System Selection in Statics Module

Available for version 9.

In the system selection of the statics module, you have a new sort and search function available, which facilitates the selection of the requested profiles.

How it works

Activate under “Programs” → “Preliminary Structural Design” → “Beam Statics” the function “Selected Section”.


In the following window you will find a new sort and search function in the upper area, that will help you to determine the manufacturer and the preferences easily and fast.

Afterwards select the requested item, either by full-text search, by number, or with the help of the pictures in the preview window. The two toolbars right above the item selection allow for swapping between list or tile display of the items.




Items with Negative Amount

Available for version 9.

For the fast adjustment of the estimated mass of a construction you can enter additional items with a negative amount now. This allows for an easy way to exchange individual items e.g. You insert the estimated item as additional item and assign the quantity -1. This neutralises the item and you can activate a replacement item with quantity 1 e.g. Please note that there is only a change in the stock list, but no change of the technical item, so there may be no machinings in the element.

The entry of negative quantities is verified for logic. LogiKal prevents a negative result, thus an item with a quantity smaller than zero. You can deduct a maximum of items that LogiKal has determined automatically for the element.


Toolbars in CAD

Available for version 9.

The CAD module has been upgraded and can be adjusted now. For each function an icon has been determined. You can put together and position these icons and functions according to your wishes and arrange them to your preferences and habits.

How it works

Click “Settings” → “User Settings” → “Toolbars” in the CAD’ s file menu.

To create a new toolbar click “Add”.


Assign a name to the new toolbar and select the functions you want to embed on the left hand side. Click “Save” and “OK” to save the settings. The toolbar appears in CAD now. You can move it to any place you wish.

User Management

Simplified Rights – Administration with User Profiles

Available for version 9.

In the user management you can now create user profiles and assign a profile to each user. All changes in the profile, such as access rights or terms of registration, are taken over easily and automatically for all users that have been assigned this profile.

How it works

Click “Settings” → “User” in the project centre’s file menu.


Select “Add” in the area “User Profile”, assign a description for the profile, and determine the according rights.

Create a new user or edit an existing user.

Under “Profile” you can now select the profile created by you.



Project-Related Machinings

Available for version 9.

Single machining or machining groups, only needed for one project, can now be created project-related. Such individual solutions remain related to this project and the database of the standard machining keeps its clear arrangement.

How it works

Click ” Job” → “Project CNC Database” in the project centre’s file menu.

Under “Project CNC Machining” and “Project CNC Group” you will have the same functions as in the global CNC database.



In the input of elements you assign the project-related machining to your constructions, by using “Import” in the toolbar.


Applying Global CNC Machining to Project CNC Database

Machining, you need for your current project, and that is already available as standard machining in another project, or has already been created, can be imported directly into the current project. This facilitates the work with project-related machining significantly.

How it works

Click “CNC Database” → “CNC Machining” in the project centre and select your element’s system. In the lower area of your program window you will find the toolbar “Apply to Project CNC Database”. Click this function and the selected machining will be transferred to the project-related database.


In the same way you can apply complete machining groups from the database’s standard groups. Click “CNC Database” → “CNC Groups” in the project centre’s file menu. Select a system. In the following window mark the groups you wish to transfer and afterwards click “Apply to Project CNC Database” in the toolbar.
